The Leonard M. Friedman Bar Association, formed in late 2008, was named in honor of the late Justice Leonard M. Friedman, a prominent member of the Sacramento Jewish community and jurist who served on the Sacramento County Municipal and Superior Courts, as well as on the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District.

The Association’s mission is to serve as an educational resource, voice and forum for Jewish attorneys and judges on issues relating to the practice of law, the courts and the community.

Our Next Event

The Leonard M. Friedman Bar Association's Annual Dinner is on the evening of September 3, 2014. We are honored to welcome Senator Marty Block, chair of the Legislative Jewish Caucus, as our guest speaker. The Legislative Jewish Caucus is a new political organization whose primary goal is to bring attention to issues that matter to the Jewish community. It includes five Senators and four Assembly members who identify themselves as Jewish, as well as a handful of other lawmakers who are not Jewish but want to participate. It is a secular, as opposed to religious, organization and has already targeted several issues on which to focus. This group represents a strong and concerted effort to increase representation of the Jewish community at the state level, seeking to improve awareness of vital issues that will affect Jews for years to come.
